UBC BioProducts Institute Leads Research for the Future of Pulp and Paper
The pulp and paper industry has experienced shocks in demand over the last five years, leading to the closure of pulp and paper plants across BC. With consumer preferences shifting away from traditional newsprint, the UBC BioProducts Institute looks towards research on wood fibre molecules to identify new sustainable uses for pulp and paper.

BPI Director Appointment as Member of The Marcus Wallenberg Prize Selection Committee
Orlando Rojas has been appointed as a member of the Selection Committee for The Marcus Wallenberg Prize. Members of the selection committee are proposed by members of The Royal Swedish Academy of Agriculture and Forestry, Technology Academy Finland and The Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences.
