Richard Sones

Director, Partner Innovations

Richard joins the UBC BioProducts Institute as the Director of Partner Innovations. He is a graduate of both Electrical Engineering (Queen’s University) and Masters of Business Administration (Richard Ivey, University of Western). Richard’s career has focused on developing and commercializing technology with technology leaders such as Harman Becker, Nortel,  MPR, and Ascom  as well as a several start-up companies. Richard is both a French and Canadian citizen, and has worked Switzerland, China, United States and Canada.  He joined UBC in 2010 to champion initiatives to increase number of industry – researcher engagements and the quality of applied outcome research collaborations.
