Michael Liu

Operations & Finance Specialist

Michael Liu brings a multidisciplinary background in wood science, biochemistry, and business administration to the Bioproducts Institute. Prior to joining BPI, Michael co-founded two bioproducts companies and held both business and technical roles in the industry, where he supported the development and commercialization of sustainable technologies.

At BPI, Michael supports operations and financial management, with a strong passion for enabling translational research and fostering pathways to commercialization. He earned an MSc in Wood Science from the University of British Columbia (UBC) and a BSc in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry from Simon Fraser University (SFU). He is currently completing an MBA at the UBC Sauder School of Business.
