Christopher Moraes
Associate Professor
School of Biomedical Engineering
Faculty of Medicine
Chris is a biomedical engineer who is ordinarily focused on microscale tissue engineering, human disease modelling on-a-chip, and tissue mechanobiology. Turns out that these medical approaches could play an important role in sustainable materials development for a broad variety of environmental applications. In this space, the Moraes lab is actively exploring fungal-based biocomposite materials, distributed and decentralized biomanufacturing strategies, and fully-circular sustainable healthcare product development.
