The second cohort of BPI internship completed their 6 month term at the end of March. Four extraordinary young talents joined the Operations team and had provided tremendous support in both research and business operations as a sub unit called 'BPI Business Intelligence Team'.
“Working with BPI in the past six months has been a very rewarding experience. Having had the opportunity to meet and grow with the team I have undoubtedly gained a wealth of knowledge in sustainability.” said Ani Markarian.
The multi-discplinary team put their various skills and knowledge together to contribute to the great team at BPI. Riva Siddiqui shared "In just a few months, BPI provided me an excellant avenue to explore my interests in promoting our planet’s sustainable future by learning more about the bio-economy and novel-technologies. Our final project curated my personal aspirations of learning to build equitable and sustainable cities by integrating new construction technologies. Moreover, I got to work alongside an amazing team that made time fly!"
The Business Intelligence team hosted and presented a webinar titled Moving Towards Bio-based Housing in Remote British Columbia on March 24th. The webinar was a great success and was attended by many researchers and industry professinals. "I really enjoyed working on a project that can lead to positive social and environmental change. We had the unique opportunity to explore the impacts that bioproducts can have on residential construction in BC, and ultimately we were able to put together some pretty meaningful research." said Brayden Pelham
Through this opportunity, the team developed important skills and knowledge going far beyond just bioproducts while contributing to the success of the BioProducts Institute. Daichi Hirata shared "I definitely learned a lot more than I could have hoped for, and I'm very excited to carry these skills forward with me into the next steps of my career. "
Thanks for your wonderful work and best of luck with your future endeavors!
