We are very excited to announce that BPI has joined the International Academy of Wood Science (IAWS) as an affiliate member in November.
Dating back to 1965, the IAWS set out to preserve forest resources around the world through the efficient utilization of wood and wood-based products. The principles of the IAWS are to maintain forests, including such things as the yield of forest products; protect watersheds and the atmosphere; take into consideration a rising consumption of wood, production of new types of wood-based materials; and cooperate with biologists, physicists, chemists, mathematicians and technologists to establish a platform for scientific discussions, publications and statements, and attraction of gifted researchers and technologists, including the academic youth.
As a leading research institute in forest-based material innovations, BPI will be looking to open up new opportunities to expand their collective research network and collaborative capabilities through this membership.
