The BPI Community Day returned on the evening of March 27, 2025, uniting over 150 researchers, faculty, and staff in a celebration of the strength, diversity, and spirit of our community.
Dr. Orlando Rojas opened the evening with a warm welcome, followed by introductions to the BPI EDI.I Committee and Operations Team, who shared their roles and visions for fostering an inclusive and collaborative environment at BPI. Dr. Agnes d’Entremont led an engaging session on "Cultural competency", facilitating thoughtful dialogue and reflection.
The evening shifted into high energy with interactive team-building games led by Divesh Goyal, President of the UBC Comedy Club, and continued with dancing and karaoke hosted by DJ Pri. Attendees also enjoyed inflatables, floor games, and a popular kombucha-making station led by Ayako Takagi, where participants crafted and took home their own jars.
