TITLE
Taking Action to Strengthen Workplace Inclusion
LOCATION: KAIS #2020 on the 2nd Floor of Fred Kaiser Building located at 2332 Main Mall, Vancouver, BC V6T 1Z4
ABOUT THE EVENT
Embark on a journey to cultivate a workplace where diversity and inclusivity thrive!
In this interactive workshop, participants reflect on their own workplace experiences in order to stimulate discussion about cultural growth and inclusion, and some of the challenges that may occur specific to the types of work they do and the industry context in which it occurs. Participants will learn strategies to identify biases, implement inclusion practices applying an intersectional model, and develop intervention and response techniques in reality-based workplace scenarios. This workshop includes activities that support understanding, identifying, and mitigating stress responses; as well as growing awareness related to representation, socio-cultural norms, and cultural and emotional safety.
Through engaging group exercises and discussions, you'll acquire valuable tools to establish an environment where everyone feels valued. Faculty, students, postdocs, and staff are all welcome. Don't miss out on this empowering opportunity to foster positive change in your workplace!

Graduating from UBC with a BA in Political Science (2005) and BEd (2006), followed by SFU graduate studies in Public Policy and Public Health, Sasha's journey is multifaceted.
