ABOUT THE EVENT

Craft your own unique greeting cards this season while uncovering the art and science of traditional paper-making and the latest in bio-based materials to enhance paper characteristics!

Engage in this 2.5 hour hands-on workshop, where you'll transform pulp slurry into paper at our iconic paper-making lab housed in the famous Pulp & Paper Centre, a hub of cutting-edge paper technologies.

As your personalized cards dry, embark on a tour of the Bioproducts lab to witness pioneering biobased materials in action. Immerse yourself in the innovations shaping the future of sustainability.

PROGRAM

Session #1 at 1pm-3:30pm & Session #2 at 4pm - 6:30pm

• Overview of Paper-making Technology
• Hands-on Paper Crafting from Pulp Sludge 
• Demonstration of Paper Quality Testing Instruments 
• Tour of the Bioproducts Lab (Demo includes lignin coating, barrier property analyzer, tensile meter, spray dryer, mastersizer, and 3D printer.)

FEE & ELIGIBILITY

• Anyone 14 and up can participate.
• The registration fee is $120+GST, including materials and tools.
• At checkout, a $50 discount is available for full-time students or seniors aged 60 and older.
